Whether he produces anything or not. Historically, and possibly for the Synth community as a whole, I feel it is just as important for Oberheim as it was for Bob Moog to be the rightful owner of his own name.

thats my $5 worth. I'll leave it there.

Re: Tom Oberheim and the new SEM

Filmed at http://fourthwallproject.com/

Re: Tom Oberheim and the new SEM

thanks for putting this up. where was this filmed?

Re: Tom Oberheim and the new SEM

are you kidding? that was totally my plan too! why not use the best of each?

Re: Tom Oberheim and the new SEM

I get the feeling there will be those that won't be pleased at me when I get mine and use it with Ableton Live, an Akai APC40 and an Apple MacBook Pro (always been a bit of an Apple "fanboy"). Been using synths since I was a kid, grew up with these in the 70's and 37 years later will be happy to be using old and NEW technology together! Welcome back Tom, you have been missed!

Re: Tom Oberheim and the new SEM

that bit about 3:00 in really brought me to my feet. too perfected. precisely. and did you hear him talk about "individualistic qualities". it's never been about the features. limitations give an instrument its character.

"if you like hardware, you might as well get something that has some real character to it. "

there's your marketing headline. and also explains why i am purchasing an old roland vp-330 next week.

thanks for posting this!

Re: Tom Oberheim and the new SEM

I don't think hardcore gamers or apple fan boys have anything on motivated synth nerds in terms of breaking news coverage.
